What does "Unavailable" mean?

Our shop is made to order. Therefore, "out of stock" doesn't make a lot of sense for our process. Unavailable refers to the fact that this item is currently, for multiple reasons not available at this time. This also means that it can become available without notice. If you are interested in a specific product that is unavailable, please email bailey@baileyhikawa.com and we are HAPPY to let you know about any product.

KAME iPHONE CASES

But whyyy?

I named the line of phone cases "Kame" pronounced: kam-Ay, meaning "turtle" in Japanese and is a metaphor for the shell of a brain (Since our phone are our brains, duh).

  • Every Hikawa case design props up your phone both vertically and horizontally.
  • Every case acts as a grip to better hold your phone.
  • Kame cases are sculptures for your everyday life. We need more art in our lives.
  • Kame is made with impact-resistant material.
  • Kame actually protects your phone.

What is my iPhone model?

You can find your iPhone model number by looking at the small text on the back of the iPhone. There should be something that says "Model AXXXX". Google your model ("Model AXXXX") for model listing.

If you cannot read the text on the back of the iPhone, go into your phone to Settings > General > About > Model. Tap once on Model to reveal the model number.

Does it fit in my pocket?

This is officially the most frequently asked question.

My response: Pockets are all different sizes, so they will fit in some pockets perhaps not others. The standing and gripping features of the Kame phone cases surpass your pockets.

Every case fits in a tote bag. It's time we have alternate shapes for phone cases for different users and uses. Kame is a small and fun solution to a bigger problem.

Kame is sculpture and function in one.

Why are Kame Cases more expensive than other phone cases?

KAME is more expensive than other phone cases because each case is individually hand fabricated and hand-finished from prototype to finished product. It takes about 24 hours to completely fabricate each case, sometimes longer depending on the material. I've developed the materials, designs and fabrication process over the past 3.5 years and I am always, constantly improving the product and design.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the manufacturing process. They are indiviudally hand-made to order in my studio in Los Angeles.

How do I care for my Kame?

For best results, wipe your case down regularly. Our phones are in our hands many hours a day and our hands are dirty!

If your KAME case gets dirty try one of these:

  • > Wipe using a cotton ball and isopropyl alcohol or a baby wipe.
  • > Dishwashing soap with a scrubby sponge.
  • > Baking Soda Paste and a toothbrush
  • For other tough stains, please email me at bailey@baileyhikawa.com, as I may have other tricks in the bag.

I want your case to look its best, so please let me know if you aren't sure, I prefer to help you troubleshoot than have a dirty unsightly case.

How To Get ON & OFF

Kame Material

All KAME cases are made from a non toxic elastomer sourced from US distributors. All materials made and sourced in the USA from prototype to finished product.

How protective is the mask?

It's important to know that the fabric itself is protective.

We have labeled each mask with it's fabric makeup so you can better know what fabric is more protective and/or more breathable.

Here is a reference for protective mask material.

Our Canvas Mask has 1 thick layer + 1 thin layer (rated 97% effective)

Our Denim Mask has 1 medium layer + 1 thin layer (rated 92% effective)
